It was good news all round this week with Staffin Community Trust updating on the various projects the Trust is managing.

We are delighted to announce that as part of Scottish Tourism Month, SkyeConnect will host its annual 'Tourism Event' at Sabhal Mòr Ostaig in Sleat on Friday 9th March.

SkyeConnect is looking for directors to join the organisation, the Destination Management Organisation for Skye and Raasay.

On 15th January 2018 groups and individuals gathered at the Council Offices in Portree for the first Tourism Infrastructure Dynamic Workshop to hear of projects that have been proposed to improve tourism infrastructure, manage visitor expectations and to ensure that the impact of tourism in Skye and Raasay considers the communities where local people live and work.

The Highland Council have today published a paper entitled 'Skye and Raasay Tourism Infrastructure-A Dynamic Workshop Approach'.

After many months of meetings and business planning SkyeConnect is delighted to announce that funding for a project officer's post has now been approved by Highlands and Islands Enterprise.

Hosted by Kate Forbes, MSP, a tourism 'summit' was held at the Aros Centre in Portree to bring together key business leaders, stakeholders and representatives from tourism and business providers in Skye.

SkyeConnect was launched at the Aros Centre in Portree on Saturday 18th March. More than 100 people attended the event, which marked one of the first roadshow events of Scottish Tourism Week from the Scottish Tourism Alliance.
