SkyeConnect has, in recent weeks, been asked by a number of commentators for the Board's view on the proposals for the redevelopment of air services from Ashaig aerodrome in Broadford.

It is the view of the Board there are far more pressing issues facing communities in Skye and our neighbouring areas, many of which have been publicly aired. There is no intention of proposing to debate the issue at this time. As many will know the Scottish Government announced last November the formation of a Tourism Task Force, and currently SkyeConnect's energy and resources are best used supporting the community in influencing decision-makers both locally and nationally. As an organisation we are aware of the steering group which comprises of representatives of Highlands and Islands Enterprise, Highlands and Islands Transport Partnership, and the Highland Council. SkyeConnect will await any further announcements from the steering group.
