Following a recent recruitment process nine new directors have been appointed from a wide range of sectors across Skye and beyond. Alistair Danter is SkyeConnect’s Project Manager. The meeting discussed a range of current and future areas of interest including organisational funding, the Scottish Government Tourism Task Force, updates on the Rural Tourism Fund, the work of the Project Manager since his appointment, the legal structure, membership, communication strategies, collaboration with public agencies and community involvement.

Shirley Spear, chair of SkyeConnect added: The initial board members Anne Gracie, Ian McKay, Rob Ware and I are delighted to welcome new colleagues to the organisation, who bring with them a wealth of experience and expertise, and a real understanding of the issues facing tourism in Skye and Raasay and the impact on local communities.
