Members of the board of SkyeConnect met on 11th August at the An Crùbh Hub in Sleat to hold a workshop facilitated by board member Jim MacDonald and co-ordinated by project manager, Alistair Danter.

The purpose of the workshop was to bring together the newly convened board to discuss a number of key topics for the organisation which represents communities, businesses, organisations and the many tourism businesses in Skye. Topics covered included strategy, partnerships with neighbouring areas, communications, prioritisaton of issues, membership and marketing opportunities. Working as part of the Scottish Tourism Task Force led by Highlands and Islands Enterprise, SkyeConnect does not have its own funding for the provision of infrastruture projects across the area but collaborates with partner organisations including HIE, Highland Council, Visit Scotland, the Scottish Tourism Alliance and the Scottish Government including our MSPs and local MP to help identify key issues and to lobby for support as and when required

Further information on the outputs from yesterday's workshop will be available in due course.
