Month 2 of 2022 and – judging by the job adverts in the WHFP – businesses are gearing up for a busy season (see more below).

Our winter marketing campaign video has been seen by + / – 400,000 people who clicked through to our website www.myskyetime.com  The video also features on www.VisitScotland.com with 3 clips being used on the pan Highland promotional campaign. It has never been more important to have your business registered on the site.

We are grateful for the work of Peacock Studios and the work of Sean Grieve (ex Portree High School). It was great to be able to use the creative skills of a local person in the production.

Skye: The Island of Adventure and Discovery

Whether you’re looking to test yourself on a snowy expedition, get the adrenaline flowing on a freezing coasteering adventure, or looking to relax with local food, whisky and log fire… we’ve got something for you this winter!

“Skye – The Island of Adventure and Discovery”

Our winter marketing campaign “Skye – the Island of Winter Adventure and Discovery” is up and running https://www.myskyetime.com/winter-adventure/

This campaign runs in tandem with a VisitScotland and Highland Tourism Alliance campaign that will be going live this weekend. The full-length video on MySkyeTime will be edited into smaller Social media clips targeted at key Scottish and English geographies. The campaign links directly to the website, giving maximum exposure to member businesses. Despite a soft launch, in the first couple of weeks of the campaign we received over 100,000 hits. This is an example of how the more memberships we secure, the more often we can launch pro-active promotions for the area. SkyeConnect aims to spend 70-80% of subscription on marketing. These promotions are vital if we are to maintain visitor awareness of all there is to see and do on Skye all year round.

Jobs Fair – Broadford Village Hall – Wednesday 16th March 2022

Our website MySkyeTime – Isle of Skye Activities And Adventures has been gathering contact details of individuals who would be interested in working on Skye. These are available to paid up members of SkyeConnect.

Subject to approval, we will continue to work with the Ranger Service, Access Officer and local community to support actions proposed in the plan.

IT Based Visitor Management Tool

Work on our IT based visitor management tool with Edinburgh University continues. While the coding and techy side of the project is on track, problems procuring vehicle sensors and dynamic messaging devices will, however, delay final implementation.
