The UK Hoteliers Charter

The Hoteliers’ Charter was drawn up in 2020 to raise the profile of the hospitality industry and promote hospitality as a profession of choice to parents, schools, colleges, universities and careers influencers.

Founder Sally Beck, general manager of The Royal Lancaster London and Hotelier of the Year 2019, conceived the idea to help dispel the notion that those working in hotels work ‘long hours for little pay’.

The Hoteliers’ Charter has already secured the support of industry bodies, The Master Innholders, UKHospitality, St Julian’s Scholars and The Institute of Hospitality along with many hotel general managers.

The Hoteliers’ Charter is designed to raise the profile of our industry in the public arena, advocating working in hotels as a great career choice. The Charter Hoteliers’ role is to encourage employment from their locality into the wider hospitality industry, primarily through hotels.
