Highland Council Consultation on Transient Visitor Levy 16th August
SkyeConnect has participated in a number of events this year both with Highland Council and the Scottish Government on the merits of whether a new tourism tax should be introduced in the Highland region. The Council has now launched its consultation and has made provision for Destination Management Organisations such as SkyecConnect to submit their board views. The link to the public consultation can be found on our News Page dated 16th August.
The report of the pre-consultation can be found here and it is a useful background to the issue prior to going out to ask views from residents, businesses, organisations and visitors.
SkyeConnect launched the marketing initiative #skyetime in March 2019 a campaign to encourage visitors to 'stay longer, see less, experience more'. The multi-faceted programme features the new interactive website www.skye-time.com and a 60 second video short #skyetime shown at the link here.
